A busy day at work meant that I ended up taking my 365 shot rather late today.
I wasn’t feeling particularly creative today, so it was a shot of my tea. I’ve developed quite a taste for couscous at the moment, and twinning it with a couple of veggie burgers provided a moderately healthy and very filling tea.

Got back from a nice long walk with Oscar and found him snoozing after I finished my tea.
I ran 9.5 miles today, and about 6 to do tomorrow – surely I deserve the lie down!

Our second day in Jersey, and we decided to take a drive around the island.
Jersey is an island full of history, a bastion of the United Kingdom on the edge of mainland europe and with a strong military heritage – particularly from World War 2 when the channel islands were a small foothold the German Army held in the United Kingdom.
Adolf Hitler fortified the island, and there is a lot of evidence still of the German occupation.
Lewis Tower was originally built to defend against the French, but during World War 2 was modified with a concrete tunnel to the right of the tower which housed a searchlight.
It can now apparently be rented to stay in!

Landed in Jersey in the early afternoon and went on a stroll around St. Helier to get our bearings.
This handsome fellow is part of a few statues celebrating Jersey’s dairy farming heritage

Playing around with Autostitch again. Before our flight home from Jersey was cancelled (resulting in a 7 hour wait at the airport) we took a drive around the east coast of the island.
If we were to go back to Jersey, I’d like to explore Gorey further, but on a rainy, foggy Monday there wasn’t much to see.
